Why does A.R.R.O.W.® work?

A.R.R.O.W.® offers many innovative features, but at the heart of its success is the use of each child's own voice (Self-Voice®), combined with a unique multi-sensory learning approach.

As an added benefit, all A.R.R.O.W.® materials are aligned with the National Literacy Strategy, ensuring they complement and reinforce the learning that may be taking place in school.

How can I get A.R.R.O.W.® help for my child?

Your child’s school may be using A.R.R.O.W.® contact them and find out, otherwise A.R.R.O.W.® help can be given regionally by a qualified tutor or through a Distance Learning Program

Can A.R.R.O.W.® help children with speech/language difficulties?

Yes. Research conducted by Dr Lane at the University of Exeter found that A.R.R.O.W.® significantly improved the listening, speech and language skills of children with speech and language difficulties.

Through its unique Self-Voice® approach, A.R.R.O.W.® develops speaking, listening, reading and writing together, helping children improve speech clarity, sentence understanding, listening skills and confidence in speaking.

By using their own voice as part of the learning process, A.R.R.O.W.® also strengthens the internal thinking processes that support effective communication and learning.

A.R.R.O.W.® began as a listening and speech tool for Hearing Impaired Children.

Exeter University research showed that A.R.R.O.W.® improved listening, speech and language skills of hearing-impaired children at a significant level of confidence. Suffolk LEA based research showed that A.R.R.O.W.® trained children improved their listening skills by 18.5% whereas a control group (no training) improved by less than 1%.

Somerset based research showed that even children with typical hearing, but poor listening skills, once trained on A.R.R.O.W.®, improved their listening in background noise by almost 100%.​
